Nondiscrimination Policy
Consistent with Section 11.2 of the bylaws, services are provided based on program eligibility, individual needs, available resources, and applicable requirements.
No person will be required to accept, profess, or participate in a religious belief, worship service, or religious activity as a condition of receiving basic needs assistance or other services. This section supplements, and does not replace, the bylaws.
Faith‐Based Hiring and Leadership Exemptions Freedom’s Hope is a faith-based organization. In accordance with Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act and other applicable laws, faith‐based organizations may consider religion when hiring for certain positions.
Freedom’s Hope therefore reserves the right to:
Require that staff or volunteer leadership positions uphold, support, and model the organization’s mission, values, and statement of faith.
Consider an applicant’s faith and alignment with the organization’s beliefs when hiring for roles essential to the ministry’s religious identity, teaching, or
leadership.
These faith‐based exemptions apply only to employment and volunteer leadership decisions. They do not affect access to services, which remain open to all eligible individuals without regard to religious belief or practice.
Reporting Discrimination Concerns
A person who believes they have experienced discrimination may report the concern to the Executive Director or Board President. If the concern involves either of those individuals, it may be submitted directly to the Board President (boardpres.freedomshope@gmail.com) or another uninvolved Board officer or director.
Concerns will be reviewed fairly, and appropriate corrective action will be considered. Retaliation for raising a concern in good faith is prohibited.
